Our Team

Catherine Knowles, Director

She/Her

Catherine has been in healthcare for 45 years and runs a successful, registered independent healthcare service. Finding Circus in 2009, she initially started training purely for recreational purposes but quickly progressed to teaching and performing both in the UK and abroad, including Aerial Edge in Glasgow and the Edinburgh Aerial and Acro Convention. This led to her becoming a director in a performance agency for local artists. Seeing the demand for flying trapeze, she brought Scotland’s first full size flying trapeze rig from Texas to Glasgow.

Shirley Alexander, Director

She/Her

With over 20 years’ as a professional accountant, Shirley has spent her career working in the Financial Services industry, providing advice, strategic guidance and financial expertise in global organisations. As someone who found circus relatively recently she is passionate about recreational circus training, in particular flying trapeze. Shirley will be bringing her skills to the company to help maximise investment and ensure financial control.

He has also taught and trained at The National Circus School in Montréal where he was apprenticed to another legend: Victor Fomine. Adam Wright, Coach

He/She/They

Adam Wright is a queer, neurodivergent, Scottish circus performer. Their multifaceted knowledge of circus arts has brought them to distant shores and they've worked with too many wonderful people and companies to name. They're as flexible as their use of pronouns and their talent is unique.

Teaching brings them much joy and they blend their individual style with their impressive knowledge of anatomy to help their students learn amazing things and progress technically.

Megan Ó’Ceallacháin, Coach

She/Her

Megan began her circus journey at Aerial Edge in Glasgow in 2017, training aerial silks and trapeze as a way to improve her fitness. What started as a once a week hobby very quickly became a passion. The goal of exercise became secondary to the fun and playfulness of the circus. Megan has trained in a variety of aerial apparatus including silks, hoop, trapeze, flying trapeze, as well as manipulation and any other circus related activities she can get involved in.

As a qualified and registered Occupational Therapist she could see the greater benefits to circus, providing opportunities for creativity, play, and expression; as well as building physical, cognitive, emotional and social capacities. This lead to her qualifying as a Holistic Circus Therapist. Megan is looking forward to using her skills as an Occupational Therapist to enhance accessibility and inclusivity within the circus world, whilst sharing her passion for all things circus with individuals and the local community.
